So... I posted in September and now it's November.
I'm currently down 29 lbs. I went up a bit this week but I snacked a lot and tracked a little. So I can't act surprised...
Anyway, at this week's meeting we talked about why we are losing weight. Why are we putting in this effort? Of course being healthy and looking good are top reasons. But after giving it thought, I realized the answer should be, "Because I'm worth it!"
As a mom, wife, daughter, teacher, friend... I give so much to others - and I love being able to do that. If I asked any one of the people in my life if I'm worth "it", they would answer with a resounding "Yes!" But somewhere along the line I told myself that I don't matter - and I believed that.
So my revelation was - by not taking care of myself I bought into the lie that I don't matter. To the people in my life - I matter! And I need to take care of me so I can take care of them!
This means... I need to be the best me I can be - because I'm worth it and they deserve my best too!

19.8 lbs later!
So close to a major milestone... 20 lbs!!
I've been eating healthy - mostly.
I've been working out hardcore - mostly.
My problems are: eating when not hungry (could this be why I'm in this boat in the first place?) and eating with reckless abandon on the weekends and then having to make up for that during the week.
I tell ya what... going back to work for the school year is certainly helping. I control my food and usually move more.
But I realized that if I'm taking the energy to exercise, I might as well work like crazy!

So far so good...
It's Wednesday and I've eaten pretty well... I did eat a few chips tonight - but that is my first substantial non-power food I've eaten since the weekend. I've also worked out three days this week - so I figure it's all good... (We won't talk about my uncontrolled eating this weekend).
Anyway, last nights dinner was a super yummy curry dish. I marinated turkey breasts in 1cup fat free plain yogurt and 1 Tablespoon of curry. Then I cooked it stove top and added pineapple. I served it with quinoa and green beans. Super yummy.
I
But tonight's dinner was super scrumptious! I made turkey meatballs and semi-homemade sauce with whole wheat spaghetti. The sauce was a big can of diced tomatoes, two tablespoons of no calorie sweetner, diced onion, garlic and fresh basil. It smelled amazing and tasted amazing too! And it was all simply-filling.
So now that I'm eating well, I need to work on not over eating or snacking when I'm not hungry. That will be the goal for tomorrow.
I think I'm going to weigh in Thursday or Friday because I'm planning a garage sale on Saturday and won't make it to my regular meeting!

Trying again...
So I'm baaaacccckkk! Not that anyone was reading so no one can miss me! But this is my goal... to lose 50 pounds and keep them off. I'm pretty sure that I have lost 50 pounds, but never consecutively and never keeping them off.
This time around, I am following the "Simply Filling" plan by Weight Watchers. Basically, eat the healthy foods and don't track your points. I still get 49 points a week plus my exercise points.
So today, I'm doing pretty well - we won't talk about the weekend...
Dinner will be brown rice and chicken/peach/pineapple/mango crockpot creation. More to come on that - hopefully it tastes yummy!
Here is a pretty unflattering picture of me... but it serves me well to have an ugly before picture, right?
I'm down 5 lbs in the first two weeks. I want to be down an additional 10 by our vacation to Michigan next month!

2.6
Woo hoo! I'm 2.6 pounds lighter since last Satuday!
I won't mention the bagel sandwich I ate after weigh-in. Or the McDonalds I had for dinner.
But I tracked and dipped into few of the previously unused "bonus" points.
And I bought a kettlebell. I think I will return it for a heavier one, but the work out was good and it's supposed to shred fat - if I use it, of course.
Oh, and Thursday night? Five miles on the treadmill in about 54 minutes. Pretty darn good, if I say so myself.
Today? Off to the grocery store to stock up on, well, food, and low pointsplus snacks. Wish me luck. Except no one else reads. So...

Success!
Patti, my co-worker, "brought drugs into the house!" She brought a Panera danish into the media workroom. Fortunately, it was a raisin, apple thingy and I decided I could pass it up. It took a lot, a lot of willpower. Well, maybe just plain-old willpower.
Anyway, the "last week me" would have nibbled it to oblivion. The "this week me" didn't eat any. Raisins are easy to pass up... but the apple in the middle mmmmmmmmmm.
But I did it! I avoided it!
And at 8 pm, I still have like 8 points left. I hope to leave them alone and expedite the melting...

11/29/10
Yesterday was a pretty good day - diet-wise. I was ravenous at work and didn't bring enough to eat. Note to self: figure out healthy snacks and bring them!
My successes include: not eating the spice cake Em brought in - even though I was super dooper hungry! I was hungry at bed time, so I went to bed!
Failures include: snacking on Cheese Nips while making the boys' lunches - and NOT tracking them. Eating my favorite (fattening) snack that will remain mentionless but carries about 6 p.p. But, I had 14 activity points so I figured I still ended the day on a good note!
Today... no exercise yet. If I'm running out of points (or run out) then I will hit the gym tonight. I should probably anyway... but at some point I need to do Christmas cards, lesson plans, play with the children, clean the house, shave my legs, ya know, the normal stuff.
